00:00 | Inspect the assembled document pages Open Review and Customize to see the whole document. Use the page thumbnails to check the cover, executive summary, financial pages, photographs, map, and contact information. Select Expand preview when you need a closer look. Press Escape to return to the controls. Look for empty sections, repeated photos, awkward text breaks, or facts that disagree from one page to another. If you spot a content error, correct its source section and return to the preview. On smaller screens, Pages opens the page list and Design settings opens the presentation controls. Check the information as carefully as the layout. 00:46 | Adjust page design, visibility and order Use the review controls to refine the design. Check the cover image crop so the building stays visible within its frame. The image editor includes zoom, pan, rotation, and reset controls. Make a small adjustment and save it. Review the page sequence and hide pages that do not belong in the finished package using the eye controls. Keep related content together. For a page-order adjustment, select the page and open Page actions to move it earlier or later. You can also drag thumbnails into order. After a change, inspect the affected page again and confirm the result saves. 01:23 | Download and inspect the actual PDF Select Download PDF once and wait for generation to complete. Open the downloaded file instead of stopping at the success message. Move through every page and inspect the actual output. Check text fit, image crops, map labels, page order, and the final contact details. If you find a problem, return to CREBuilder, correct the source, and export a new version. The sample PDF included with this lesson comes from this same workflow. Keep a clearly named final file so you know which version is ready to distribute.

Before you start

Data, sources, and access to prepare

  • A completed final-quality check
  • All pending saves completed
  • A supported browser download location

Prepare these details

  • Close an older PDF with the same filename
  • Confirm the current document and modified time
  • Wait for images, maps, and fonts to load in Review
  • Know where the browser saves downloads

Complete the task

  1. 1

    Confirm the save state

    Review & Customize

Wait until your latest changes show Auto-saved.

Expected result: No pending edit remains before generation.

If this step does not work

Return to the edited source section if a save error remains.

  2. 2

    Start one export

    Review & Customize

    Select Download PDF once.

Expected result: The export progress state appears.

If this step does not work

Do not start a second export while the first is active.

Review and Customize workspace where a finished PDF is generated for download.
Generate the PDF, inspect the downloaded file, and use the recovery steps when rendering or download fails.
  3. 3

    Wait for the download

    Review & Customize

Expected result: The browser receives a new PDF file.

If this step does not work

    Browser downloads

Open the file whose timestamp matches the current export.

Expected result: A PDF viewer displays the new artifact.

Locate the configured download folder if the browser did not open it automatically.

  5. 5

    Inspect every page

    PDF viewer

Advance through every page at normal viewing size.

Expected result: Text, images, maps, tables, page numbers, and links render as intended.

If this step does not work

Record the first failing page and correct its source before exporting again.

  6. 6

    Rename the approved copy

    File system

Give the verified PDF a clear approved filename.

Expected result: The deliverable is distinguishable from drafts and older versions.

Troubleshooting and next steps

The PDF contains old data.

Likely cause: The export began before a source save completed or an older file was opened.

  1. Confirm the source value shows Auto-saved.
  2. Generate once more.
  3. Open the newest timestamped file.
PDF generation fails repeatedly.

Likely cause: A source page, asset, entitlement, or processing request may be failing.

  1. Read and retain the exact error.
  2. Confirm Review pages render.
  3. Contact support with the document identity and error after one controlled retry.

Final verification

  • The PDF timestamp matches the current export
  • Every page was opened and inspected
  • Links and contact details are correct
  • Financial tables and media render fully
  • The approved filename distinguishes the final copy
  • No blocking warning, failed status, or unresolved validation message remains in the completed workflow.
